Vladimir Kulich began his acting career in his native land, at the State Theatre of Czechoslovakia. Vladimir brought his rich cultural background, experience and versatility (he speaks several languages fluently) to Canada and the US, where he was immediately cast in guest-starring television and feature roles. His most notable film performance to date is as the heroic Nordic chieftain “Buliwyf” in The 13th Warrior (Touchstone 1999). Currently, Vladimir appears as the apocalyptic demon known as “The Beast” in the WB television series Angel. His powerful stature complements his more subtle strengths and finely honed skills, enabling him to master vastly diverse roles. Vladimir’s charisma and naturally commanding presence also create a lasting impression with audiences on both the large and small screen.

On Growing up in Czechoslovakia:

"As a school boy my job was to put out the lights on the Charles Bridge on my way to school. You see in those days the lamps were oil lamps so every kid had a long bamboo rod with a metel damper on the end. On our way to school we would put out the lights so as to save the fuel for the next night. For this we were paid a few crowns, and some of us saved up enough zeros to escape to the west. YYYaaaaHHHoooo! "

What kind of movie would you like to be in? An action-comedy-drama- musical- thriller Where my charactor "Biff, with short hair, no accent, who works part time at the Gap, would save the world from the evil Eastern European / Russian (Played brilliantly by Keanu Reeves)who schemes to merge Banana Republic with Starbucks and hold a momnopoly on the worlds decaf and T-shirt trade.

Of course,in the end Biff would live happily after with Buffy in Malibu. The closing sequence would have Biff & Buffy doing yoga into the sunset...widda Puff Daddy providn da academy award winin' Soundtrak-mix "...We be cryin cauz' yo mama spilt da decaf on yo t-shirt..."

What do you preffer to act in, stage or film? Thats like asking what kind of woman do you like, brunettes or redheads. I don't have a preffrence, I just like women...I mean acting.
What is your favorite part you have played so far? Buliwyf, it showed me that there is still hope in Hollywood...I hope.
Is there anyone you would like to act with? Any talented actors who who still refuse to remove their body hair. Any talanted actresses who don't pout as if they were poster girls in a Gap add.
How did you get into acting? My uncle ran a state theatre company in Eastern Czechoslovakia.(The Czech Republic..For those of you who are too young to remember.) My job was to go to the little pub down the street and have a picher of beer ready for him between acts. He would always ask if I drank from the pitcher as I carried it back the the theatre. I always said no. That was my first acting experience. I was five years old.
Are you working on something now? Well, my manager tells me he's talking to a lot of people...
What is your favorite place(s) to travel? Prague, The Grand Canyon and Malibu.
Do you have family that act? Not anymore.
